Fires Smoke and Blade Runner

Postby Dave McElderry » Sun Sep 13, 2020 11:45 am

This guy used some footage of San Francisco under the smoke pollution of the fires, and added soundtrack from Blade Runner 2049. Does this work, or what? Scary stuff.

Ahh yes Orange Wed It was a really that orange and red that day. You had the feeling the world was coming to an end.

That is a cool video.

Stay well, guys. When the smoke is so bad they're urging residents to stay indoors, it's a pretty scary thing.

Thanks Steve. We have had 28 day in a row of "spare the air" days. To give you some perspective, Milwaukee's air quality today is 16, while the bay area is almost at 200. The bad news is that as the smoke is starting to clear it is going east over the rest of the country.... STAY SAFE

But in the words of Pete Seeger.... We shall overcome...

Well in that video you can al least see something. Here at the ranch it's been a 200 foot visibility for a week with this morning visibility at 50 feet with smoke and fog mixed together. Can't drive. So bad during the day that it is a dark grey outside with lights on in the house.

Red skies in the morning, Sailor, take warning.

Red skies at night... looks like Devil's delight, that is, Hell on Earth in San Fran. So sorry to hear it's even worse in your neighborhood, Treetops.

We have a little hurricane sitting on the edge of the Gulf. Sure wish I could send lots of that water out your way, guys. Keeping my mask wet seems to help keep some of the allergens out when I mow the grass. Maybe that could help you all.

Flash flooding predicted this PM. Always something exciting happening here. Never a dull moment. Hopefully the rain will stop some of the fires. Rain has been predicted off and on for a week but it just keeps heading north without a drop here. Anyway, I will hurry to cover all my burn piles. Still cleaning up after the BIG snow storm from over a year ago.

Scary video with that soundtrack. A friend lives in Oregon and is still out of his home. Fortunately the fire stayed a mile away.

I have friends in Portland that I haven’t spoken with. Been wondering about them too.

Good news today. 1 inch of rain here, fires seem to be lessening. No flooding. No smoke here.

Anything that stops that fire. Lets hope not too many mud sides, but I hope the rain gets the best of the fire. And our local air quality thanks you too.... lol
