Colors - Doing the Macro Slide

Postby sidd finch » Sat Aug 01, 2020 1:42 pm

Having a little fun working with a slider and a macro lens trying to get some shots of the various flowers around the house. The combo of macro and slider is a bit tricky since it goes out of focus so quickly. Recorded with Sony RX0 II

I agree! Very nice work, Sidd! That slider makes everything look magical.

You really made a nice video Sid. Is your slider automatic or do you move it manually?

Thank you everyone for the kind words. I think the movement of the slider really adds that zip to it. I guess I have been watching a lot of Gardner's World on Netflix and got inspired. No beautiful English gardens so the backyard had to do. The morning sun really helped too.

The slider is motorized which in MHO makes the slide very steady and smooth. Getting it setup is a bit tricky but it works.

Sidd, what about that portion of your yard that has all of those roses in it? That formal layout of the rose beds looks quite English in style to me! ::C :-k

Incredible! What great close-ups. It's amazing what the motion does for the drama and interest, isn't it? If these are in your back yard you're sure doing something right. :TU:

Dave I am but just a lowly grounds keeper The better half is the master Gardner. Although I am not allowed to make direct eye contact... lol

Ahh yess the roses, so much energy on the roses that the backyard is almost pedestrian..

If the motorized slider intrigues you, I found an inexpensive one that works well for smaller cameras.

https://www.amazon.com/GripGear-Directo ... 765WT5P44P

It lists the recommended camera size. But it also works great for smartphones too.
