PE2019: Rendering Disables Title Fade Out

Specific to Premiere Elements version 2019

PE2019: Rendering Disables Title Fade Out

Postby JimHuntsman » Wed Jun 19, 2019 7:26 pm

In Premiere Elements 17 (2019), I put a simple title between two video clips, and set the title to Fade In & Out. Checked it before rendering; it worked. But, after rendering, the Fade In worked, but the Fade Out was disabled. Happened to all my titles. I don't recall this problem in Premiere Elements 14. Is this a v.17 bug, or is my installation corrupted?

Does it work when you export (share) it?

Also, can you post a screen shot of this segment of your timeline with all of the video tracks toggled open so we can see opacity keyframes?

Title Opacity.pdf
. I'm really new at this stuff, so I hope I did that right. Also, maybe someone with Premiere Elements 2019 can try to duplicate the problem. If you can't, then my install is corrupted. Thanks!

Here's the image you posted as a JPEG.

From it, we can see an extra Opacity keyframe. But there's no reason the title should not slowly fade to black. So if the title is what you're having problems with, I don't know what to recommend from here.

Looking at the screenshot it looks like you have a keyframe set beyond the length of the title so the 'fade out' will be incomplete. Try deleting that floating keyframe and move the keyframe that is "half way" along the fade out to the end of the title and reposition it as a full fade out (if you see what I mean.) :)

Thanks for the tip, but due to my ineptitude, I don't know how to delete only the second keyframe in the title box. Also, new data: If I make the title only fade out, it works before rendering but not after rendering. Again, maybe someone can try to duplicate this problem, and if the problem does not exist, maybe my installation is corrupt and needs to be re-installed

OK. If I am correct you have a redundant keyframe that is positioned beyond the edge of the clip. The "full" remedy would be to remove that keyframe. and re-position thae "half way" keyframe.

The "easy" remedy is to move the keyframe that is "half way" into the fade out. To do that just select it and drag it to the end of the transition and place it at the bottom of the transition.

Re: PE2019: Rendering Disables Title Fade Out- SOLVED

Postby JimHuntsman » Fri Jun 21, 2019 3:14 pm

Problem solved! After an hour+ phone call with Adobe Technical Support, it was empirically found that I was using high quality, slow speed rendering (because my videos are HD), which caused the title fade out problem. After changing to draft quality, fast speed rendering, the title fade out worked fine after such rendering. Adobe said they would put out a KB article on this problem on the Internet. I have a newly built PC, with latest tech components, and possibly there is a conflict with higher tech components. I'll experiment a bit with my older computer to see if the problem exists there. My thanks to John and Steve for their help!!
