Thanks for posting that, Steve. I'll be streaming that to the big screen later this evening. Can't believe I've never seen that. Of course, I couldn't believe the tv show "Batman" when I first saw it in the 60's.

Stephen Furst, who played naive fraternity pledge Flounder in the hit movie "Animal House," has died of complications from diabetes, his family said Saturday. Furst was 63.
In remembrance, I think we all should watch Animal House once more. It's the right thing to do! Rest In Peace Stephen.

RIP Glen Campbell

Image

By 1960, a skilled guitarist, Campbell moved to Los Angeles to do session work. He soon became part of a studio group known as “The Wrecking Crew,” who played on many of the popular records of the day, including those by Elvis Presley, Phil Spector, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jan & Dean, the Byrds, and the Monkees. From December 1964 through early March 1965, he filled in for Brian Wilson as a touring member of the Beach Boys. He later played guitar on the group’s landmark album, Pet Sounds, and took over bass guitar and falsetto harmonies on later tours.

Wow, so sad. One of the best guitar players ever. Always loved his TV show in the 60's.

RIP, Jerry.

FWIW, I'd much rather be with a person I can laugh with than one who initially might make me swoon. It's sad that Jerry didn't seem to realize that his star would shine brighter than Dean's for generations to come.

RIP Walter Becker from Steely Dan fame.

You might notice that the other guitar player is Jeff Baxter from the Doobie Brothers.

Yep, I didn't fully appreciate Steely Dan until the release of Aja, then I got to enjoying most everything they did. For some they were an acquired taste, for others it was love 'em or hate 'em. But they were a sound of their own. Rest In Peace Walter, and thanks for the music.

They had a pretty interesting style and when you took the time to listen to the lyrics they were a lot different in terms of the other music on the radio at the time.

It's not Friday, but I thought this was interesting enough to put up on a Saturday:
