Add and Center Additional Text Boxes in a Movie Menu Theme

Postby prkraus » Mon Apr 04, 2016 7:06 pm

Hello,

I am using the Pan and Zoom movie menu theme in Premiere Elements 13. I would like to add a text box and center that and the other text boxes within the safe margins. Is there a way to do this? I have been unable to find one.

Thanks.

Hi Paul, Are you having trouble adding the text box and centering, just centering the text boxes, or both?

If you created an instant movie you must first break apart the movie, then it becomes like any other project and you can add or change anything about it. You can still drag and drop a title onto a track above the instant movie but probably best to break apart first anyway. When you add a title the text is automatically centered by default. If the text gets off center somehow there are Alignment buttons you can use, see the images below.

We have a few Instant Movie tutorials and lots of Title tutorials. I will be adding another Instant Movie and My Story tutorials later this year.

Thanks. I can do add and align a text box in my actual movie, which is not an instant movie.

I can't add or align a text box in the DVD menu (Pan and Zoom) for the movie. The DVD menu doesn't seem to have the add text box or text alignment features that the text boxes for the movie do.

What happens if you just click on the monitor in the Title Adjustments workspace and start typing? Doesn't that create a new text box?

If I am in the Tools > Movie Menu workspace editing my DVD menu, all of the options under the "Text" tab at the top and the "Text and Titles" tab itself at the bottom are grayed out and inoperable.

Sorry, thought you were using the Pan and Zoom Instant Movie theme, my mistake #-o

You can move the existing text around but cannot add any additional text boxes, at least not that I can figure out. You could open the menu template in Photoshop and edit it, adding additional text but that's not an easy task.
