Talk about anything here.

Hoping to make a short film by this summer.

So I haven't really gotten the creative bug in terms of any serious video project in a good decade or more (outside of my annual second-per-day side hobby videos), and lately I've been hit hard by it.
I've got a script idea that I'm building on, some land to film it on, and a good selection of eager volunteers to help make it. I've even got a 4K drone guy! It'll be a simple idea, but effective, and super easy to shoot in a matter of a few days if I can help it. With the gear we currently have, I finally took stock of our abilities when applied to the idea I'm cooking up, and honestly it would be very stupid NOT to do something with it aside from just doing all the pro stuff like senior high school portraits or wedding shoots. In other words, I think I finally got tired of creating stuff for other people and I'm going to do something for myself for once. ;)

Can't wait to get started.

Good luck with the project! The creative stuff just for yourself is life's icing. :-D

If you find some ambition, energy and determination Kent please do a video on how that happened. I have millions of ideas and no ambition at all lately. Hope you can do it and maybe that will rub off on some of the rest of us :TU:

Okay, so this project is rolling merrily forward. I've got the story structure outlined, and the script is coming along nicely. I don't want to give too much away about the story, but I've been able to garner the attention of some very talented local artists for many different aspects of the project: co-writing, filming, quadcopter filming, digital audio recording and Foley work, and a good 3-4 people interested in film scoring. In fact, I've been able to secure permissions for a particular piece of musical scoring to use as our end-title theme from a composer out of Buenos Aires, Argentina who studied film scoring at Berklee College of Music in Boston. I had originally wanted something to film over the course of 2-3 days during a camping trip, but I may need to extend that by a few days to get it all in. I've been dreaming of this for 18 years and it's amazing how easy it's been to gather a willing crew for a no-budget project like this once I finally decided, "Alright, everybody. I'm gonna make a movie, and all I wanna know is....Who's coming with me?"

Here's the film score track I got permission to use...

Sounds like it is going to be a really fun project with good challenges.
