Is there a way I can view the image I burned before I copy the image to a DVD ? I did a burn and then copied to DVD and got a funny jump when I viewed the DVD, so I did another burn and got another funny jump . but in a slightly different place , about 4 seconds later than the 1st one. In each case this was the only jump in the video , which is about 10 minutes long. Other than that the menus and everything work just fine. Thank You Hal

I'd recommend the free download VLC Media Player. (It works even better than most DVD player software that comes with computers.)
Just remember to select the option to Open Folder, under the Media menu, rather than Open File. (otherwise you won't see the DVD menus.) Then select the VIDEO_TS folder you created on your hard drive.

Thanks Steve . Another question , when I do the image copy I have been copying both the Video-TS folder and the OpenDVD folder. Is that the correct way to copy to the DVD. Thanks Hal

The question that I'd be asking is why the problem is happening. I've burned hundreds of images and never had a single issue such as you describe. Are you sure that the problem is in the image, and not the disc? What brand of discs are you using?

Dave : I am somewhat new to this so I am not sure why the problem is happening , which is why i want to view the image before I burn the DVD. I am using either Sony or HP DVD's. I need to get some Verbatim DVD's but have not done so. Thanks Hal

All you need is the Video-TS folder.

Yeah, I understand. If you burn from the same image twice and have those kinds of problems in two different places, I'm inclined to think that it's the media, not the image. That's why I brought it up.

Thanks Dave. well i went out and got the Verbatin DVD's and after a false start all went well. When i tried burning the image and put it in my bluray player i got invalid disk , twice , so I did the whole burn etc from PR10 and it worked great , no hiccups at all. Still do not know what happened when i burned the images , worked OK except for the jumps on the playback on other DVD's , I guess thats a "Welcome to the world of DVD burning"

You certainly can't consider yourself an experienced video editor ..if you've never made any coasters.

As I (and others) have mentioned before, using re-writable media to check final output before burning to the final DVD/BD disc can also save coasters.
