Export to AVI Not an Option

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 10.

Your project settings should always be based on the characteristics of your source video. You can output a DVD from any project -- but unless the project settings match the video you're using to build your project, it won't look good.

Well, my video input is actually photos (it's a glorified slide show I guess). I resized all photos to max 1000X750 before bringing them into PE10, if that matters at all.
I don't know if I answered you properly, but I guess I don't know what settings to choose.

In that case, you should use the preset for DV.

Can I make this adjustment to the prel's I have made for this project or am I stuck with what I've created? (combined, I probably have 200 photos).

Unfortunately, you can't change a project's settings once you've started a project.

But don't worry about it. If you're only using photos, you should still get good results no matter which settings youv'e chosen.

OK, thanks. I hope that the proportions aren't too different so things are cut out of the frames. My fingers are crossed!

Thanks for answering this - I was concerned about the lack of Export on version 10 as well....
Why would they include Export in the drop down menu if you are never able to actually use it?

File/Export was the way you output movies from Premiere Elements up to, I think, version 4, when they added the Share tab -- which includes many more options.

In other words, it's what teckies call an "artifact" of a previously functioning feature.
