Specific to Premiere Elements Version 10.

Just to add to the confusion... I replicated the exact same situation as above: 1 sound track, several video clips on different video tracks. I cut out a piece of one of the video clips and moved it to a different track and place. When I click on the resulting gap >delete and close gap< is not grayed out and works as expected. I deleted one of the clips by selecting it and hitting the delete button. I don't get a gap, all the remaining clips just ripple automatically to the left. Do I miss something
That depends on if you click Delete, or Clear

Is the audio clip on the Narration or Soundtrack Track? If so try moving it up to another audio track and try again.

It does not matter, it always works no matter which audio track it is on.

What if you move one of the video clips above the gap, can you still do it then?

Wow, that's great. Now to figure out how to make it work for everyone else

This is really a mystery, I wish I could shed some light on this. One thing is clear, there are situations where the >Delete and Close Gap< command is not working. I did some more testing and opened a project in PRE7, where I had used the Picture Cube Theme. When I tried to delete a section and remove the resulting gap or hit Delete Key, it would not work. So I thought, this must be something that did not work in PRE7 but they fixed it in PRE10. But when I started a new project in PRE7 and repeated the set up from my last post above, it work too. Now I made a copy of the Picture Cube project and opened it in PRE10 to see if I can delete a section and close the gap. Surprise, surprise... it did not work now even in PRE10. Also hitting Delete did not ripple all clips to the left as it did before. Aquarium1.jpg To be sure, this is not some carry-over from PRE7, I started a project in PRE10, used the same clips and pictures with the Picture Cube Theme and take a guess... it works as it did before. Aquarium2.jpg I don't know what to think about this, I would be great to find an answer to this
