Settings for viewing on Kindle Fire

I just completed a highlight video for my daughter's soccer team using PrEl 10 -- AVCHD footage with numerous transitions and a few titles. PrEl burned really nice looking DVDs and Blu-rays but now I would like to save it in a format that I can play on my new Christmas toy, a Kindle Fire tablet. According to the Kindle's literature, it supports MP4 and VP8 files. The 7" screen has 1020 x 600 pixel resolution.

I've saved some small test files, about a minute's worth of clips, several different ways using presets on the Share tab. Once I copy the files over to the Fire, it can't play them. I get an unsupported file message. Any suggestions?
