64 versus 32 bit

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 10.

64 versus 32 bit

Postby videolady » Wed Dec 21, 2011 1:12 pm

I am jumping into video work again after about 1 year away from it. I hastily bought the Photoshop/Premiere Elements 10 bundle on sale but now may have an issue.
I have Windows XP with Service Pack 3 32 bit operating system, but the software is the 64 bit version.
Is this compatible somehow because there aren't anymore copies at the store AT ALL? (Staples Canada) If so, do I need to do anything special at installation?

(Wow, so glad I kept my membership paid. This site is so awesome. It is even better than I remember!)

I do believe all the different versions come in the same box. I bought just the PElements and both 32 and 64 bit versions were included. In fact even the MAC version was there. Read the face of the CD carefully, I think it will explain.
ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen/3 motherboard. Core i7 2600 and 16 gigs of ddr3. SSD Crucial boot drive, GTX750 Ti video card. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I think you are right. There are 5 discs. Discs 1, 2 & 3 all say :To install for Windows Start with Disc 1. To install for Windows7 64 bit Start with Disc 2. To start for Mac OS Start with Disc 3.
And Disc 4 & 5 are just labelled 'Content'.

So hopefully that means I will be ok by installing it beginning with Disc 1 - THANKS!

Yup, just install using disc 1 and you only need disc 4 for content.

Fantastic! I have Windows 7 64 bit at work that I also bought software for. Will I use Disc 5 Content when I install that one?

No, I think you still use disc 4 for the Content.
