For what it's worth, I would check this out.
I went onto the Adobe chat line with Adobe (I was lucky enought to get an Indian), to check out a couple of these kind of things.
He informed me that with v10 you can only activate/deactivate a maximum of 20 times. I also read this info on their site, but can't
remember exactly where I read it. Also if you have it on two machines, you can only run one computer at a time, you can not run
both at the same time. Maybe in your case that doesn't matter, but I thought I would mention what I was told by Adobe, just for your reference.

I don't .zip, I use .rar
Many times folks upgrade a computer because the old one crashes and burns and the HD is dead. Does Adobe allow for that since you couldn't de-activate?

I tried a couple of mime types and after a bit more research, RARs can be semi-executable and are considered somewhat of a security risk on servers. Since I don't know much about the risk, we will err towards the safe side and continue to disallow that file extension.

Is it possible you can just use zip compression? Actually, what's the original extension (the extension inside your current RAR)?

Sorry for the inconvenience.
