PE10 timeline

Postby AVITRY » Tue Nov 08, 2011 8:20 pm

Being still in the dark ages with Ver.3 and trying to cover my bases with a major upgrade, I have a PE10 question. Does PE10 display the videos on the timeline like V3. In other words, is a video placed on track 1 under a video on track 2 or has Adobe gone backwards :) like most other nle programs.

If I may also ask, while on the subject .... Are there any other NLE programs that display the timeline like vers. 3 (which is the only one I know besides V2) :)

thanks,
joe

I'm a little unsure about exactly what you're asking, but the Video 1 track is below Video 2, Video 2 is below Video 3, etc. The video and audio for a particular track stay together on the timeline. That is, it goes from bottom upwards, Audio 1, Video 1, Audio 2, Video 2, etc.

Here's a screen capture that I took from Steve's preview of PrEl 10 which may be helpful. It's not very high quality but I think it shows what you were asking about.

Yes, is seems to be the same. Video 2 is over video 1 and covers or overlays video 1. I have absolutely no idea why, but most NLE programs do this bass akwards and I can't stand it, so I wanted to be sure before I bought V10.
