Vegas 15

Postby Mel717 » Mon Sep 18, 2017 7:15 pm

Hey there, has anyone been able to get acquainted with Sony Vegas 15 yet? I'm just getting a feel and have come across something that really stumped me for the day. After much effort and 'googling' I will leave it here with you guys and see if anyone has an idea..
So when rendering a GoPro video (HD), it seems like it is in fast motion even though I did not not edit it to be. I've gone through all settings and tried different rendering options, nothing is slowing down my video to a normal speed.. any thoughts on what I can do?

Thank you!!

I've not even toyed with it yet, Mel. I'm actually surprised it's that different than version 14!
3.6 ghz i7-7700 running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with 16 gigs RAM and a 2 terrabyte HD. Also iMac 2.6 ghz dual-core, 4 gigs of RAM, running OSX El Capitan and Boot Camp Windows 10 64-bit.

So far no real issues for me using Vegas 15 but I don't use GoPro files either.
Here's a older link on how to make GoPro files more friendly for Vegas.

What are the video file settings? Specifically the fps of the video file. GoPro file are just MPEG4 files.

If the mpeg4 media is AVC, The problem may be due to a new decoder Magix is using.

You can disable the new decoder by going into internal preferences and disabling the so4compound reader. To do that, hold down the shift key as you select Options > Preferences. Click on the 'internal' tab. At the bottom of the internal tab, search for preferences with "so4" and you'll see "Enable so4 compound reader" in the results. Change the True to False, click Okay, then restart Vegas. Thanks to Nick Hope on the Vegas forum.

Magix is working on the fix, I've read.
