Horizontal clip flip in Movie Studio 12?

Postby AgileMktg » Mon Aug 12, 2013 6:45 pm

I recently added Movie Studio 12 Platinum Suite to my arsenal, along with a couple books on DVD Architect and MS 12 by some guy named "Steve." :) I've already run into a situation that's making me ask for help.

I've got an interview, and I wanted to put some animated lower 3rd graphics under the talking heads. My original clip starts on the left side of the screen. That's cool for the Interviewer. I made a copy on another video track and tried to flip it horizontally so it came in from the right under the Interviewee. Looked up "flip horizontal" in the help menu, and it takes me to the crop/pan info, which also helps me to rotate the graphic. I can basically rotate it 180 degrees and it comes in, upside down, on the top of the frame.

What am I missing here? I know I'll need to do this with other interviews, and there's at least one instance where I'll want to flip a clip when I get to that particular job edit. I've gotta be doing something wrong.

If you're trying to just flip a clip horizontally, it's pretty easy, Scott.

Open Pan/Crop for the event clip and then just right-click on the "F" box and select Flip Horizontal!

Is that the effect you're looking for?

Im. Freaking. Possible. It can't be that easy. ::sigh:: But it is. I messed around with the "rotate" settings for about an hour. I never once right-clicked. It's the simplest things that shoot me down! Hehe.

Thanks so very much, Steve! I really appreciate your help on this in particular, and for the forum in general.
