Media Bin Curiousity

Postby BuddyB » Thu May 23, 2013 8:21 pm

I put a movie into Vegas and broke it up the way I want it. Is it possible to put those pieces into the Media Bin from the Time Line?

I am not a Vegas user but in PrPro/PrEl one way would be to export the "segmented" video clips as individual pieces then re-import them into the project. (Hope that makes sense)

If these clips are on the timeline as a result of splitting, then in Vegas Pro you can select all or some, then right-click and select "Create subclip" from the popup menu. Doing that will put the subclip(s) into the Project Media bin. I forget if you can do that with Vegas Movie Studio.

That is one of the quickest things I've done RJ. It worked beautifully in HD Platinum 10 taking me about 3 or 4 mins. And John I'm going to try the export/import just to see if that'll work. Thanks again guys.

Thanks for the feedback, BuddyB. Glad the feature is there in HD Platinum 10. That's one more feature I learned about with your question. In fact, I learn a lot of things on Muvipix because of the questions people ask.

John, you made perfect sense, but that option is not available in Sony HD 10. I even checked Steve's book and couldn't find anything that resembled Export/Import. It is an excellent thought. Thanks.

John and BuddyB, you would need Vegas Pro. There is a script that comes with Vegas Pro to batch render "regions" on the timeline.
