Trimmer bug is back

Postby TreeTopsRanch » Tue Nov 13, 2012 11:45 am

In Movie Studio Platinum 12, when the trimmer is undocked, the trimmer only shows the sound portion of a video. If you move the slider you can see the video but only when moving the slider. As soon as you stop moving the slider the video disappears again. Worked OK in 11 but broken again in version 12. The fix is to dock the trimmer. Still a little flaky but it works as you can see the video portion then.

I did a Google search on this problem and discovered that it happened in previous older versions of Movie Studio.

What model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is it?

What are your project properties?

I would recommend you match your project properties to your source video -- in your case, 1920x1080 AVCHD -- rather than to the resolution you plan to output.

You'll get much better performance and less bugginess all around. (You can down-rez everything at the end, when you produce your DVD.)

I will do as you suggested but just want to let you know that didn't fix the trimmer bug.

I don't know why you're having this problem, TreeTops. But watch the Sony site. They do frequently issue program updates.

Today I installed latest build (576) for Movie Studio Platinum 12 and that build fixed my trimmer problem.
