Subclips in VMS Plantinum 11

Postby schmechel1 » Sun Nov 04, 2012 9:16 pm

I am learning Vegas Movie Studio HD Plantinum 11 and am working with subclips. I converted a DVD to MP4 and am editing it in MS. I am trying to save portions (highlights) of it through subclips. They are saved to the project window but I am unable to save them with a video file extension (mp4, avi, etc) to another location on my PC so that I can use them in future videos. The only thing I could think of is saving them to the Media Bins folder, opening up another session of MS and then copy the subclip over. If this works, it seems kind of awkward ... is there an easier way? Steve

Creating subclips in your Vegas projects does not actually create shorter clips of video. It merely creates pre-trimmed clips based on your longer clips. So you won't be able to find those sub-clips on your hard drive. They only exist in your Vegas project.

If you want to actually create shorter clips, you can put the trimmed clip on your timeline and then render it out as a new clip.
