clip starts when button clicks

Postby curt y » Fri Mar 18, 2011 3:19 pm

Currently when I click a button to load a video I then have to click play once the video window is up. Is there a way to have the video start when the video window loads?

I'm also not clear what you're saying, Curt.

Are you previewing your DVD in DVD Architect or playing your burned DVD on your DVD player?

From a sub menu I have 6 videos, each with a button. When I click on the button the video loads on the screen but then one has to go down to the player and click play for it to start. This is on the setup not of a finished disk.

I was wondering if it could be set up to start playing automatically.

I'm still not sure if you're talking about an actual disc or a preview.

But, if a disc, there is absolutely no reason this should happen unless you've set some preference to make it happen. And we sure can't tell that without studying the Media Properties panel.

Does it behave this way when you put the disc in your computer's drive and let computer's DVD player software launch it?

I think he's just talking about double-clicking on a movie in the project overview panel and then watching it below in the timeline? I think he wants it to start automatically instead of having to use the controls. Or maybe not. He says it's not a disc, but he does talk about clicking on a button.

OK, I see the error of my ways. If I use a completed DVD disk the video starts when you click the button.

If I am setting up the project and I double click on the button it bring up the video and one has to start it.

I figured it would work the same in the setup as it does on the disk. Guess not.

If you want to see how things will work on your actual disc use Preview, and click on the buttons on the remote control representation on the right side. That should do it. Not thinking any such thing Curt. Just trying to make sure we're communicating. :)

Yep, that's the purpose of the Preview mode. It simulates your finalized DVD.
