set disk start

Postby curt y » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:25 pm

Although I have the star (for set disk start) on the main menu, when I insert the disk it does not always start there. It can start on a sub menus also.

Have tried in on a widows machine with windows media player, and also on a Mac with similar results.

What am I doing wrong?

Enclosed is a screen shot.

The other submenus not seen are the same structure. The 2 broken links do not have media built yet.

First, you're talking about playing a final DVD disc, right? Not a preview, based on your project, right? Remember that a preview of the project not yet burned to disc is set up a little differently.

If it's not starting on Menu (Page 1) when you load up the disc, where does it start playback? What happens if you put the disc in a DVD player?

Yes, it is a test DVD disk.

My co-worker has an older MAC and it loads on Predation. He reloaded several times with same result.

The first time I loaded it it started on Maps and Tables. Since then I have loaded it numerous times and it starts on the main menu.

Tried it on a DVD player several times and it also loads on the main menu.

Since we are going to burn a 100 copies and distribute to many users want to have best chance for success. This is my first DVD.

Steve - Ordered you book on the 9th. Amazon still has not shipped. Although says it is in stock they had to back order. This is just feedback for you information.

I can think of absolutely no reason it wouldn't load to Menu 1, Curt.

I'd say it's the Mac that's got the buggy behavior. (Mine sometimes plays my home-burned discs funny too.)

I'd trust the results you're getting in your DVD player.

Not a Mac. Surely to goodness. I just can't believe that! :mlol: (rolling around floor, clutching aching sides, tears running down cheeks, etc. etc.)
