Specify a different picture for a scene selection menu item?

Postby cgwaters » Fri Aug 08, 2014 12:53 pm

Trial DVD Architect 5.0 user here. I used the Vegas Movie Studio trial to create a video, with a few markers. I'm using the markers as menu items on the scene selection submenu. (My apologies if I'm not yet using the correct vocabulary.)

For each scene selection menu item, I'd like to display a picture that's different than the one present at that timestamp. For example, for a musical event, each marker has been defined at the timestamp when the announcer introduces the next song, including talking about the artist. Each artist begins his/her performance anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds later. I'd like each menu item's picture to be of the artist, not of the announcer; however, I don't see a way of specifying a 'time offset' for each menu item's picture. Is this possible with DVD Architect?

Select the button that you want to change. In the Button Properties window, select "Media". Click on "start time". At the right side of that line, there will be an arrow button. click on that and you will get a slider control that you can use to scrub to the desired frame.

It certainly is.

Select the button and then go to Button Properties and select the Media page. Under the Thumbnail Properties, change the Start Time. (As we show you in the book, this only changes the image on the thumbnail, not the actual time the scene starts.)

Thanks, Bob & Steve! That worked great.

FYI, I purchased the Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 and DVD Architect Studio 5.0 guides. They will arrive today. :)
