Prob with Capture by Time code?

Postby DebCrowell » Wed Jul 13, 2011 1:21 pm

Hi all-

Has anyone had any problems with capturing (from DV Casette) by time code? Suggestions? Could there be a problem w/my camera (getting old) or is this a software problem?

Thanks! as always!

I should add that I started having this problem when I switched to PE9.....I've been successful on and off with PE9 (capturing by time code) but it's been touch and go....

Sorry to hear that Deb, how do you know for sure that it is the camera?

Is it the camera or a flat (as in discharged) battery in the camera. Camcorders have a small flat (as in thin) battery that is used to maintain the date and time.

Good call Paul, could very well be the battery.

I thought PRE9 couldn't capture HDV from miniDV by time code (i.e. scene splitting doesn't work by timecode), and that is why everyone uses HDVSplit?

You are correct Ron, I just assumed since Deb had captured with her camera previously that we were talking about Standard Def Camera, not HDV.
