Specific to Premiere Elements Version 9.

Hello,
i'am new here, and my main Language is german. So sorry for my poor english.
I have PE 9 for Windows, using it on my Windows XPpro. I've used PE3 before it, and i have some Problems with the Workspace. I cannot dock any Window. I've tried the CTRL (STRG in German) but there changes nothing in workspace, and i only move the Window.
I saw a video on youtube, where the color of the workspace changes into a "grey" and then the windows docks into this place. Even if i undock e.g. the timeline i cannot replace it. Its still a Windows until i reset the workspace.
Have anyone a idea.
Thx Grabber66

Willkommen!
Welcome to Muvipix, Grabber!
Yes, if you hover a panel over an area in the program's interface, it should resize in order to allow you to drop the panel in.
However, you can't do a lot of customization with the various panels. You can undock the panels and scatter them around your computer's desktop -- but you can't do a lot of rearranging of the interface with the panel's docked.
If you get too lost, you can go to the Window menu and select Restore Workspace. This will reset the interface to its original layout.

Could you please give a demo on how to do that, Steve. I'm not able to figure out how to do it. I've tried but no luck.

I could not find out how to do this, too. A detailed info is maybe helpful.

Well, I've just tried it with version 9 and guess what -- we've found another feature Adobe has disabled!
You can undock the panels from the program and move them around your desktop. But the only way to dock them back into the interface is to go to the Window menu and select Restore Workspace.
Sorry about that.

Just out of curiosity, I looked at the PrE 8 and PrE 9 help files. PrE 8 help tells how to dock panels, PrE 9 help does not. Looks like this was a deliberate change and not just a bug or oversight. I added this to the thread on removed features in PrE 9 viewtopic.php?f=89&t=8758
