Web DVD question about PE9

Postby Hawk10Vid » Sun Jan 30, 2011 7:58 pm

I have been continuing to experiment to get higher quality video out of PE9, especially to play on websites. I have built a Web DVD file ('folder' I guess is more correct) and because it plays in HD as opposed to standard format, the clarity is exceptional. I read in Steve's PE9 book on page 202 that I should load this folder to my website. It then says the video will be launched when the viewer goes to the site connecting to the Index.html file. I do not find an "index.html" file in the folder. Only a file called Play_webDVD.html, that is 2KB in size. Could you clarify a little as to what to do with this folder/files on the website so that a visitor could click on it (or something) to play the video? I appreciate the help.

And, yes, you are correct, Hawkeye. WebDVD does not produce an Index.html file.

The file that launches the WebDVD is called Play_webDVD.html.

Sorry for the misinformation. I'll have it corrected in subsequent printings of the book. Thanks for noting it!

As a followup to this question, is there any way to make an autoplay DVD that will automatically play a Web DVD? In other words, is there some way to put the Web DVD folder onto a DVD and have it automatically inititate the Play_webDVD.html file when inserted into a DVD drive? thanks.

See if Easy HTML Autorun Builder will do what you want. Seems to work on a Web DVD project I created. I purchased this a while back, but haven't used it much.
