An odd thing happened in Bridge. I've used Bridge since 2005 and never had this happen. I had a folder of old scanned photos that Bridge decided it would not open and crash. It has accessed this folder in the past. The bottom left corner read that it was preparing previews of the 178 items.
Step 1 I purged the cache inside of Bridge. Step 2 I purged the cache manually in Windows. Step 3 I made a copy of the folder and renamed. Bridge still would crash. Step 4 I made a new folder next to the problem folder and named v2. In Windows I copied the items to the new folder. Bridge still crashed on the new folder. Step 5 I made a new folder and named v3. This time I moved only 2 items and Bridge opened the new folder. Moved 4 more items and it crashed on the new folder. Looked at the 4 items and guessing I deleted the tiff files since I also had a .jpg file for them. Seems Bridge was getting caught up on the first .tiff file. There are other .tiff files in the folder. Bridge can now open the original file folder without crashing. I'm glad I didn't have to go thru 178 files to find the corrupt file.
Hope this may help someone is why I'm posting.

Thanks Peru Bob. I noticed the problem last night and decided to wait until today to try my options. Gave me time to think. If the last step didn't work my next option was to copy the folder onto a jump drive and use my old computer with PS to re-save all of the photos. I'm happy the corrupt file was on the first 6 photos and not the end of the 178.

yes Last year as a favor to someone I converted an old VHS to digital. Setting up I felt so lost. It has been years since I had the old Pyro hooked up to the computer and TV. I used to be able to do this in minutes, but this time it took me awhile of fumbling around.
