Question for Sure Thing Disc Labeler Users

Postby George Tyndall » Sun May 15, 2011 8:24 pm

How do I avoid printing my photos on the disc spindle, where the ink can smear as the spindle is not part of the printable surface?

I've researched the SureThing Help files but without success.

I don't have the program, but looking through their forums it looks like the adjustment may be under File>Page Setup, and change the "Center Hole" setting. Yay? Nay?

In page setup you have the option to set the Center Hole size, that should fix it if you make the size larger.
I have only printed on hub printable DVDs so this has not been a problem for me.

The anwer is Yay!

True, if i wish to have the image the same on both the SD (spindle area <1") and the Blu-ray (1.5"), then that is a large portion of the image that is missing--but it beats the heck out of needing to wipe with a cotton bud each disc that I print.

:tx:

However, ST5 is acting VERY strange: Each time I try to make a simple change, such as changing the title, I get the blue ring spinnng for a very long time. Any idea what that is about?

Chuck, the HP SDs say "Print to Hub," however, that means there is printing on clear plastic and the ink smears easily, so should't I decrease the hub-size setting in SureThing to avoid printing there?

:?:

Late edit: I should have written increase the hub size setting.

I've never had a problem with it printing on the center plastic ring George but most of the time I use the Epson software that came with my printer. Might need to do a test or two decreasing the hub size and see if that solves the problem.

Chuck and Dave, I've found the solution!

I'll describe it in a new post as others may find it useful.
