Yeah, being a site admin must be fun times, luckily IE6 is all but out of the equation now, and the browsers are starting to come back into conformity; so developing/updating a website should cause less headaches continuing into the future.

I'm having some kind of issue with the Life of Idle Luxury vid. The audio is fine, but all I get on the screen is a very thin vertical line that seems to have some movement and color in it, almost as if all of the horizontal direction of the video has been squashed until it's just a very thin vertical line.

Hm, maybe a WMP plug-in issue. It's just a simple WMV 9 codec. Unless you're on a MAC, you shouldn't have any problems with the codec at all. Maybe try a different browser and if that works, update the WMP plug-in? Just a guess.

I had to install the WMP plug-in before I could play any of these, so I have to assume it's the latest version. The rest all work except for the mov file, which I didn't play because I'm not going to install Quicktime.

If you have Win7, you can just download it and play it natively in windows media player. ;)

Only because I'm avoiding installing anything on this laptop that I really don't have to have. Ever since I reloaded it a few weeks ago to solve my networking problems it boots about twice as fast and has been working great. I have QT installed on my desktop and will play that video from there later this evening.

Sorry for the delay in announcing the winners, but it was a tough call! And even though the contest wasn't as participated in as we had hoped, the entries that did were exceptionally terrific as always.

The Grand Prize winner is, of course, "How to... Escape Winter" by Paul_LS!
[$150 Amazon Gift Certificate]

Peoples Choice 1st Place - "DIY Cigar Box Uke" by ed [$150 Amazon Gift Certificate]
Peoples Choice 2nd Place - "Snowboarding" by tiny [$50 Amazon Gift Certificate]
2nd Place Honorable Mention - "How To Enjoy The Life Of Idle Luxury" by Kitwn [$50 Amazon Gift Certificate]

And for the remaining qualified entries ( tiny ["Biology of Sharks and their Relatives"] cannot win twice  ), you're automatically our Runners Up and will receive Steve's new book! In no particular order:

sidd finch - Flat Stanley in 3D
tjodork: The Joy of Comic Books
Peru - How to Ring a Bell
Please contact Steve via our forum Private Messaging (PM) System with mailing information.

For the Gift Certificate winners, contact Chuck only if you would like to receive your Gift Certificate at any other email besides your email on file.

Congratulations to everyone! And thanks for putting the time and effort into keeping our annual video contest alive and well, despite the difficult, unusual and busy times we are all faced with today.

Congrats to the winners! Well deserved. :-D

Once again, How to Escape Winter - What a beautiful way to showcase your family memories. Very slick and professional.

And again, my personal favorite, How to live a life of idol luxury - Very clean and professional editing, along with good shots.

Excellent job everyone, I was very impressed with every one of the videos. The range of talent has surely grown here at Muvipix over the years. Looking back over the contest entries from the past 5 years I think that this might have been the best group yet !!
