Congratulations to all the winners. I viewed every entry and have gotten lots of inspiration from them.

Chuck, Steve, and Ron did a great job in coordinating the contest. From all the excellent entries I know you had a really hard job choosing the winners.

As I was reading all the posts, my heart was warmed when I read Paul and Jamal's posts to Cheryl.

I can imagine all of us sitting in a banquet hall for the awards presentation with the winners at a head table. Cheryl comes to the podium to accept her trophy and announce which prize she has chosen. Then Jamal starts scribbling a note on a napkin to pass to her. But before it gets to her Paul clears his throat to get her attention and then whispers "Are you sure you don't want the 2nd copy of Premiere Pro CS3???" Paul knew if she did not choose the coveted CS3 he would be next in line to choose it. What a sacrifice, but being the class act that he is, Paul was willing to give it up.

This is another fine example why Muvipix is the best forum in the known universe.

Sorry to hold things up!

WOW! This has been a fun experience! I've *so* enjoyed watching all the other entries & seeing some new and different effects.

I've been producing photo montage slideshows as a business for over 8 years, and this is the first time I've ever entered any of my work in a contest. I joined the forum shortly before the contest started & entered just for fun... the commercial category intrigued me because of the additional time restraint rules & posed a little different challenge than I'd ever undertaken before. I never expected to win something!

First of all, I want to thank ALL of you for your kind comments on Franklin Island. I *promise* as soon as I get my head above water and come up for a breath, I'll post what software was used for my entry.

I'll choose the Epson scanner -- I wear them out way before their normal useful life!

Again, thank you very much! I'm thrilled!

Well of course I'm going to take the LifeTime Subscription to MuviPix! That's a great prize to win seeing how it's of unknown value and I can enjoy many contests, moving backgrounds, tutorials and the forums for years to come!

Thanks to Ron, Chuck and Steve for the prize, I really appreciate it. It's gratifying enough to make these movies for friends and family, but it's always extremely nice to get kind words and recognition from fellow enthusiast.

Well, since you're already a member, there's a couple of ways we can do this. First of all, I'll cancel your Active subscription (you should receive an email shortly).

The easiest way might be to use a different email address and in turn, I can create a brand new account. Or you could simply remind me when your current subscription comes to 'end of term', and I can renew manually from there.

Just let me know how you want to do it, either way is fine with us. Congrats again!

-Ron

I may not have a chance to do a complete tutorial on my videos just yet but I'll try and offer tidbits as I can.

slushparlor1 wrote:I think this would be an awesome idea if the winners had some time. For example in the apple picking video (at .58) I love how the two pictures come on the screen and then twirl away and back. I wouldn't know how to do that effect!

This is simply a photoshop file on top of the video...the file is a black background with a box opening in the middle (stroked with white). IN Premiere I adjust the scale (make sure you scale height and width separately) I add a second PS file I call a splitter, a centered vertical black box again stroked with white. This serves to split the inital box into 2. Again by keyframing and adjusting scale you can create opening of various sizes. Beneath it I scale and crop the stills or live video that shows through so that you can see any of the edges in the other box.

WHen I get a chance I will post the PS files.

Beth

Just a quick update, I've combined all of the videos and they can be viewed here - http://muvipix.com/cpg/displayimage.php?album=250&pos=0

Go full-screen for an uncrowded appearance. The controls should be self explanatory. Any questions, fire away.

The original uploads will be deleted soon. This will give you back your disc space.

-Ron

CInde,

Your turn to share. How did you create the very striking design look to your Family Reunion? The star-like distortion of the background image?
