A Day in the Life of Muvipix project

Postby Steve Grisetti » Tue Feb 18, 2020 10:51 am

Hi, folks.

Sidd Finch and I have been discussing the possibility of a working up a Muvipix-wide project -- just for fun.

The idea is that several of us would do a short film. 5 minutes max. And we'd call it "A Day in the Life." We'd turn the video over to me, and I'd cross-cut it between stories so we get a nice documentary of a day in the life of several Muvipixers across the country or even across the world.

The date we're suggesting is March 19, the first day of spring. Your video would consist of breakfast and/or the start of your day, mid-day, late afternoon (commuting from work or picking up the kids), dinner and wrapping up the day. You can narrate the scenes with a voiceover or speak directly to the camera. Involve your family or neighbors. Show scenery or your town or neighborhood to give your video a unique context. We don't need anything terribly profound. It's just a day in the life.

What do you think, folks? Would anybody be interested in participating? If you are, please commit by responding to this post by March 7.

If there's ample interest (like at least five people) we could try it again on the first day of summer. We think it's a great way to inspire some video work as well as to celebrate the Muvipix community.

Sidd Finch.... That guy is trouble...

I think it would be a really fun idea especially since it would NOT be a competition. Steve, I am hoping that you would overlay your stellar voice work to make it sound really top notch.

I think this would be a really cool representation of our community. Especially if we get some clips from around the globe.

Okay. If anyone would prefer, you can cut together your video and provide me with a script and I'll do the narration.

That's the kind of variety we're looking for, Cheryl! Everyone's life is a little different.

Just bumping this back to the top so it stays fresh in folks minds.

I think this would be such a cool representation of our community. It is always interesting to see through others eyes. It brings the world a bit closer too. I guess in a way it will be like having an old fashioned potluck meal, but with video instead of food.... :YY:

Steve,
It sounds like a fun project. I am working from home putting the final touches on a video for an on-line class called Math Without Tears. This involves adding some new footage of the new country classroom. The main goal for me is to remake the DVD menu I had on the original production of the class 25 years ago. I emailed you this morning since I must switch from Final Cut Pro X to MAGIX Entertainment VEGAS DVD Architect - DVD and Blu-ray Disc Authoring Software if I have a chance to have a professional menu-driven DVD.

I would appreciate your support and help.

Hi, Kaye. Unfortunately we can't offer detailed support or answer questions directly. But if you'll post your question to our Vegas sub-forum, we'll all work together to get you an answer to your question.

Hi, folks--

This Saturday is if the final day to commit to this project. So, if you're interested, please tag "I'm in" to this thread.

So far Sidd and I are definite. I'm trying to wrangle in a writer from Kansas City. And Cheryl and TreeTops seem interested but haven't given a full commitment yet.

Don't worry that your daily is too banal or silly. The video is about the variety. Any contribution is a good one.

Today is last call for our March 19 Day in the Life project. So far only Sidd and I have committed. We'll lock at the end of today.

Regardless we'll post the results here and maybe it will inspire a similar group project letter for our community.
