however I am being virtuous and nothing I have is more than 9 miles from my house ;)

Good for you! ::CLAP: Nine miles won't get me to the grocery store! :fg:

FWIW, Premiere Elements 11 seems to allow 2 seconds per still .jpg file, so 30 shots. hmmmmm No time remapping for still images that I can find.

Wonder if Premiere Pro allows it? hmmmmmm

You could always do 2 minutes at two seconds, export as something reasonably high quality then time remap the 2 minutes to one.

Paz, it is possible in Premiere Elements 11 as well.

You have to change the settings in Edit > Preferences > General , then Right-click/ctrl-click in the Project Assets panel and choose Still Image Duration.

I quoted from the Adobe help website:

Add me to the 'I have not started yet' group.

I leave for a very short visit to the UK in a day or so and I don't return here until late on 15th August after I will start to put the ideas that I have into images. So Cheryl's Labour Day extension suggestion will help me even though it doesn't apply here. :-D

Me, too. It's our busy season, but I'm trying to fit in some time for video fun.
Part of my problem is that I wanted to do a four seasons thing, but I don't think we will have any snow before Labor Day.

In both PrEl & PrPro you can set the default stills time by frames (1sec=60frames or 30 frames). Do this BEFORE importing your stills. Bring in your folder of 60 photos and place folder on the timeline. Done! :-D

Then you can set a different duration for single still images :-) :

That will be a fascinating video!!

Seems like the September 1 date is causing problems for people. The goal wasn't to rush anyone, we want as many entries as possible! However, if the timeline is effectively open-ended nothing will get done and there will be zero entries.

How about Sunday September 14th as the deadline?

Or what would you suggest?

Ron,

I can't make up my mind as - I confess - I am looking forward to sharing my short video ::wav::

I don't know if some enthousiasms may wane: I think not, mine certainly not, but what about allowing to share from september 1st and keep the contest open until 14th ?

It might get more interesting, perhaps encouraging, ideas may come out from ideas ...

Thanks to all who offered info re: setting time of still images in PreEl 11 and PrePro.

Got it!

I think that is a good idea. How about we just keep the window open throughout the month of September? One submission per person. Each submission approximately 1 minute (running a little long is fine).

Is everyone OK with this?

For me is fine,

but please allow me to make a suggestion.

In case of severe indecision in starting, just create the project and put the first shot or pic on the time line, I am sure that one minute will look too short \:D/

OK - here goes - Here's my one minute video about the river Wey navigations near to my home. Horribly embarrassed  about hearing my own voice - but not having the budget to get a voice actor it will have to do.

Shot on a Sony Nex5N with the standard 18-55mm lens. Edited in Vegas Pro 12. 720p available on Vimeo.
