Star Wars Scrolling Plugin

Postby Hawk10Vid » Thu Dec 16, 2010 12:55 pm

Is there any place I can buy a pre-formatted clip or plugin that produces the Stars Wars opening scrolling text effect to use in PRE9, into which I can simply type the text that I want to have scroll up and off the screen? I will use it on a PC-based (Windows 7) machine. Thanks.

Hi Hawk,
It is really easy to do in Premiere Elements.

ProDad Heroglyph will do a lot of it for you, that is a plug in for Premiere Elements, but it really isn't that hard to do from scratch. There is a tutorial here that explains exactly how and I am pretty sure that is in at least one of Steve's books, also available here. The Learning Basic Subscription is only $20 and that will let you see the tutorials for the next 2 months, Steve's books aren't much more than that.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

BluffTitler also has a "show" that you can plug in your text.
http://www.outerspace-software.com/buy.html

It's not too expensive and well worth using for other things, too.

If you happen to buy it, it's located here:
c:\outerspace software\blufftitler\media\shows\composition effects\Scroller7.bt
or here:
c:\outerspace software\blufftitler\media\shows\composition effects\Scroller6.bt

They used to have a free trial. I'm not sure if they still do.

its real easy. I used the corner pin effect and move out the top two corners up a little and in. and in. Just apply it on your rolling text.

You can also use the 3d effect and tilt the text to -45 degrees
