Prodad Mercalli stabilizer?

Postby keledole » Mon Mar 16, 2009 11:19 am

Has anyone tried or is currently using the Mercalli video stabilizer plug-in? It appears to have the features that I want but...... actual user experience means more to me than all the self-proclaimed greatness that the manufacturer/developer (in fairness) has to say to market it.

If anyone has had good user experience with another sofware plug-in or standalone package I would also be interested in any insight they may want to share.

My goal is to make handheld footage a bit more watchable. I have Premiere Elements 7 and currently only edit Standard Definition source material.

Thanks in advance.

Here is something from Red Giant

On sale for $99, not sure how good it is but it does stabilization and noise removal.

Thank you for the response! The links were very helpflu. Looks like I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

Hello!

How much can a video stabilizer plug-in help? I'm a beginner in video area, and as you can probably imagine, my hand is shaking sometimes more than I want.
Is there something like a standalone software that can do what plugin is doing?

Thanks!

I don't know about a standalone, brownleaf, but, as this thread says, there are both third-party plug-ins (as discussed above) as well as built-in stabilizers in both both Premiere Elements and Premiere Pro. They all work surprisingly well!

If the built in stabilizer in Premiere Elements doesn't help then I highly recommend Mercalli.
