Has anyone played with particle illusion?

Postby Chris B » Sat Sep 24, 2011 8:31 am

Has anyone played with particle illusion? I have been looking for an easy(ish) to use particle system for sparkles, flares and suchlike and came across this. They sell an SE version which seems to be a reasonable price (about $100) rather then paying for after effects or other "professional" programs. Huge library of effects (got to be around 1000 odd) - seems reasonably flexible.

Has anyone used these programs - and what did they think?

Thanks for any info.

I almost bought it a couple of years ago, but ended up with Bluff Titler because it was cheaper at the time.

The quality of the effects is very good in Particle Illusion, though.

Corel just came out with MotionStudio 3D ($99 US) that has particle effects. http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... bview=tab0

Thanks for that - any other suggestions appreciated. Bluff Titler doesn't seem to do particles - unless I'm missing something.

Yes, Bluff Titler has particles, plasma, and other types of layers.

Try this. Start a new show: File > New Show.
Then: Layer > Add Layer > Add Particle Layer (or Add Plasma Layer)

There aren't hundreds of presets like with Particle Illusion, but you can create quite a variety of effects or modify existing shows.

Some of the shows in the gallery can be downloaded, complete with supporting media. You can then customize the show with your own graphics or text. You can also keyframe all of the properties.
