Audio 2 Track Gap

Postby Peter » Tue Mar 13, 2007 12:01 pm

PE2 - I have a music track on Audio 2. I have been placing video clips on Video 1 synching to the beat of the audio. I deleted one of the video tracks, approximately a 4 second section. When I drop a new video clip (slightly longer than the gap) into the video gap, the audio 2 track gaps. When I either trim the video clip down to the correct length or time stretch down to the correct length, the gap still remains in audio 2. The only way I can prevent the audio gap is to drop in a short video and stretch it. My main concern is all the video later on the timeline is synched to the audio 2 and I dont want to lose the sync. What am I missing? Thanks for any help.

Simple trick of holding down the Ctrl key while you drop clips on the timeline ;)

wow. That was too much typing on my part for such an easy answer! Chuck, your book ALWAYS sits in my lap whenever I am editing - a fantastic and required resource! If the CTRL key trick was in there, I missed it. Thanks for the quick response. - Peter

I purposely have left gaps between a few audio tracks. Do I need to actually insert a blank track to hold the space or can I just leave the gap? If I have to insert, what do I do?

Hold down the Ctrl key while placing your clips and you'll override the ripple feature.
