Thank you BOB & GPECHT!! (and STEVE)

I ran a number of tests and have a stack of coasters!

It turns out that I HAD originally edited in 4:3 and exported 4:3 and the dvd player made it full frame.
This is SO GOOD as now I don't have to re-input and re-edit all the video (phew).
I tried a dvd both straight from the timeline without rendering, and also exported to avi, and put that on the timeline, and both worked, even though the clips had been imported as 16:9, the rendering put them back to 4:3. (Took a little longer is all)

GPECHT, I had never used that feature before, so that wasn't an option but thanks for that tip.

Anyway, a happy ending.
Cheers guys!! :exc:
