Funny problem started today.

Postby Clayton » Mon Nov 23, 2009 2:10 pm

Today after I logged into Muvipix from work, everytime I click on a new post or go back or anything, I get the error message that states "Sorry, Mmuvipix.com does not support Internet Explorer 6 Browser". now when I click on okay it goes where I was going. It doesn't prevent me from getting there, just have to click on this error message every move. Anyone use this browser and have this problem? :(

I'm sure Ron will be around later to help with that Clayton.
I do know that he has been having lots of fun fighting the browser wars and what is compatible between them all.

Don't you think it's time to move up a version anyway?

Are they crazy? Moving from Windows 2000 to Vista? That might be a place to stay away from during that transition :-

Yep, it was my way to let users know that they should really upgrade. I'm through trying to satisfy all browsers/Operating Systems and the various combinations and versions thereof.

Just be aware that IE6 is definitely an old-school browser and, for starters, our menu (on the left) will not work for you. I looked up some stats and only about 8% of the internet use IE6, so I thought I was in the clear. Maybe I should take a poll.

Meanwhile, I'll remove the alert :)

I understand and can make do as it is. I only work 2 days a week anyway.

The menu to the left works alright for me. :-D

I can't believe IE 6 is still in use at some companies. I know IE7 is still largely in use, which again is crazy. IE needs to force updates like FF. I'm glad that IE is finally coming into compliance with web standards, because it's a real pain to get a site looking nice in different browsers. Major props to you Ron in making this site both look nice and operate correctly in multiple browsers. O:)
I wish I were creative enough to write something witty here.
