What do you think of this Muvipix service?

Postby Steve Grisetti » Fri Nov 20, 2009 1:08 pm

This is way early in its planning stages, but Chuck, Ron and I have been playing with the idea of offering this service.

Do you think there would be enough interest to justify it?

Want some one-on-one training in Premiere Elements or Photoshop Elements from the Muvipix experts?

Muvipix co-founders Chuck Engels and Steve Grisetti are now offering customized, one-on-one training for Adobe's suite of Elements programs. For an hourly fee of $50, Chuck or Steve will link up to your computer via Skype, answer your questions and give you individualized, real-time training in the program or programs of your choice.

Because of the unique challenges of individual systems, we can't help you with technical support or help you troubleshoot functional problems with your computer or the programs. But we will custom create a training program based on your specific needs and questions.

What can you do with Skype?.. is it just chat? I think it would be better if you could do some sort of desktop sharing. And as a minimum be able to view their desktop. Ideally go into their desktop and do some stuff in the program of their choice remotely using Windows Remote Desktop Connection maybe???

Skype now does allow you to share a desktop, Steve tried it out with someone in Europe recently and said it was really nice.

Yes. I was very impressed with how easy it was to share desktops. That's when I saw the great potential for it as a teaching tool. Especially since it is free!

We could also offer this service with our moderators as potential teachers, if they're interested. They'd, of course, be paid for the service.

It sounds like a good service. Its not something I would use, but it would be worth looking at. Fast internet connection would be important.
