uploading versus linking to files in the GalleryCan someone remind me as to what type of files can be uploaded directly into a thread, versus those that must be linked from the Gallery. I tried to upload an flv video that I need help with, but it told me that extension is not allowed. I do this so seldom, I can't seem to keep this straight in my head .. or maybe I never understood to begin with
Re: uploading versus linking to files in the GalleryThe general rule of thumb is; some image formats can be uploaded into a post. Videos are linked via URL (as I see you figured out).
Some attachments like .zip and .doc can be 'attached' to your post, but these are limited. And also limited by size. We have to be extra careful on what we allow to be uploaded as a malicious user (yeah, they're out there) could upload a potentially damaging script/file. Regards,

Re: uploading versus linking to files in the GalleryThanks, Ron. Sounds like if it moves, it links from the gallery. What's the size limit on direct upload into the thread?

10MB, probably more than we'll ever need Regards,
