DVD Template Questions

Postby nkummer » Mon Feb 19, 2007 12:54 pm

Hi,
I think this is the correct area to post this, but if not, just let me know.

For the DVD templates, I noticed that the video for "Vacation DVD Template - NTSC" does not show. The audio comes out fine. The other templates also work fine.

Question 2, you have three version, NTSC, PAL, and Version 3. I understand the first 2, what does "version 3" mean? For PE3? If so you may want to be more explicit, especially once 4, 5 & 6 come out. :D

So far a great site.
Thanks,
Norm

Probably more appropriate in the muvipix suggestions, thanks.

Can you be more specific, Norm? Is the preview not working or the AVI file itself once downloaded?

Good point. I will correct that, thanks !

Ok. That was my next choice. :D

The window pops up, I can see the green "loading" bar move along, then "Done", and then the sound plays, but there is no picture. All the other templates work fine, including the other Vacation ones.

You're welcome.

It works now.
(of course I only stumbled across it since I am looking for a template for my vacation, and I live in NA)

Ron,
Ok, I am going to follow up my own post :). It does work (or at least all three are consistent), but I noticed that the Vacation template is different from the other templates.

All I see is the jet going across the page. There is no text. On the other templates I see the Main Menu text and then after a few seconds I see the Scene Menu. I don?t see any of this with the Vacation template.

Is this normal?

Norm

I have text on mine, must be a font issue. We may need to bring Steve in on this.

The preview of the Vacation Template doesn't have text.

Ron, Chuck,
I'll let the two of you sort it out. For me I'll almost for sure join before noon tomorrow so I can just download it and look at the final copy, but not so sure I'd pay $5 with seeing the text.

Just some feedback, so far the site looks great. I'll be looking for more "Vacation" templates as almost all my videos are from vacations my wife and I took.

Thanks for the great work.

I just downloaded some new DVD template and want to install them into PE3. I know I have seen a discussion somewhere here with installing the template but now can't find it. Can someone help?

Just extract the two files (Make sure you've downloaded the right version and the right format!) to a new folder you've created in the Custom folder in (and I'm going from memory so cut me a break) C:/PROGRAM FILES/ADOBE/PREMIERE ELEMENTS 3.0/DVD TEMPLATES/CUSTOM. (In version 2, I think, before you get to DVD TEMPLATES, you have to go into a us_eng folder or somesuch.)

Once they're in there, just open your program and go to the DVD workspace. They should show up as one of the Custom templates.

I downloaded 2 DVD templates the Baseball and Dancing. My question is I'm using version 3 and when I download the version and got ready to install them they were in the pal format I thought being in the US I needed ntsc format is that correct.

While prior versions of Premiere Elements used separate DVD templates for PAL and NTSC, version 3 does not. The DVD templates for version 3 use PAL. Don't worry, Premiere Elements 3 will output them as NTSC or PAL depending on the project preset you've chosen.
