Problems with download

Postby ridon127 » Thu Oct 18, 2007 9:16 pm

I tried to download the new snowflake background in the products area. I got a message it could not be found. I am using my PC not my laptop so I don't know what the issue is. Is anyone else having problems or is it just me?
Thanks
Donna

Hi Donna, I just downloaded and extracted it without any issues. I know in the past I have had some problems with other motion backgrounds that when I attempted to extract the zipped file it told me there was nothing to extract. I think I tried them later without problems, but don't know why it occured in the first place?

On occasion we get emails that there was a problem with a download.
I think that some of them come from users with Dial Up connections and a 100mb file is a bit much for them.

These are very big files in many cases and even with broadband connections data files can be corrupted during download.
If you have problems with a zip file after download please try this;

First, drag the zip file to your desktop and try extracting it from there. If that doesn't work try downloading the file again.

As to the File not being found I think if you try again it should be fine. I will also try downloading it to make sure.

Ok, I downloaded the file to my desktop (27mb in about 1 minute to my desktop) extracted and played the file just fine.
I'm sure you have downloaded files before, haven't you Donna?
I think if you try it again there won't be any problems.

Also, make sure that you're not using some sort of [edit: third party] 'Download Manager' as these tend to conflict with our security.

I always have problems with downloads from Muvipix using Firefox. I have a 'no problem' work around which is to use IE - no problems with that nor with using ReGet Pro (download manager) in conjunction with IE.

Kerrie, Donna, are you using IE? :)

Hmmm. Must be some settings I have. But as I have an IE workaround I'll not worry too much. :)

I use IE and I have never had problems on my laptop but it is not doing to well these days so I am using my PC which my hubby primarily uses. He probably has something blocking downloads. He hates me connecting to the internet--says the computer has problems after I download things. I will see if he has some download manager on it...
Thanks

"says the computer has problems after I download things."

Same thing happens to my brother-in-law. But that's because of the (ahem) sites he visits.

I hope you're not visiting those same sites. Are you, Donna?

I usually do use IE. I also have firefox, but I seem to have more problems with that one, mmmm. I will never figure out computers.

Steve, your brother in law sounds like quite a character...... Course, I think every family has to have one of those! Kerrie
