Possible DVD Vacation Templates

Postby nkummer » Wed Feb 28, 2007 8:30 am

Steve,
I have posted a zip file in the Gallery containing 15 JPG images as possible DVD template backgrounds. Let me know if you want to use any of them as DVD templates. The pictures in the ZIP file are only JPGs, but I do have the original TIFF files, all scanned in at 300 DPI. I have not attempted to ?correct? any of them as my monitor is not color corrected and I?d probably only make it worse. :(
Regards,
Norm

Meantime, Norm, I've created a basic template that Ron should have posted on this site very soon. (Chuck is planning to create some title templates based on the same theme.)

The images, I believe, capture the flavor of central Europe but, of course, the photos are merely background and you can swap in your own photos too.

Meantime, thanks for the photos! Any objection if I use them maybe to create some more DVD templates?

Norm, I've just looked over your photos, and they really are beautiful!

I just use the Auto Levels feature in Photoshop and they color-corrected beautifully! I'd definitely like to put those to use in some form.

By the way, where are the photos from? I recognize French on some of the signs.

All,
Thanks for the complements. First, I must admit that my wife took all the pictures so the credit must go to her. She takes the pictures and I take the video. Most of the pictures are from France, although some near the German border. I also know a couple are from Antwerp and one from London. In order to get the exact city name I?ll need to look it up tonight at home. I?ll post the locations once I have done that.

In the meantime Steve, feel free to use them as you see fit. You have my permission to use them for DVD templates.
Regards,
Norm

All,
So I went through the pictures and as best i can tell from here at work, this is what they are of:
MP1 ? Ch?teau de Chenonceau, our summer cottage :)
MP2 ? Ch?teau de Langeais
MP3 ? Ch?teau de Loches, taken from the village.
MP4 ? Some where between Colmar & Strasbourg, I?ll have to look it up tonight.
MP5 ? Antwerp, the main square
MP6 ? I believe Strasbourg, but I?ll need to look it up
MP7 ? Antwerp, same square as MP5
MP8 ? In France, taken from a castle ruin looking over the country side. I?ll have to look up where.
MP9 ? A small village in the Colmar to Strasbourg area. I?ll need to look up the exact name.
MP10 ? Champagne area of France, not far from Ch?teau-Theirry
MP11 ? Same as MP9
MP12 ? London
MP13 ? Saint-Emilion, form the Keep looking at the vineyards
MP14 ? Saint-Emilion, from the church looking at the Keep
MP15 ? Saint-Emilion, from the Keep looking at the church. Notice that there are no antennas or satellite dishes. The towns? people voted to make it look like it did in older times.

9 and 14 are my favorites for representing a local ambiance.

However, I must say that Chenonceau was interesting.

Norm. If you'll look on page 3 of the Products page, you'll see that Ron has posted our new Europe-themed DVD template.

Chuck and I are also working on a clever alternative version that uses some of the photos you've generously donated.

Watch for new stuff!
