SOS: What Happens to My PRE7 Window?

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 7.

SOS: What Happens to My PRE7 Window?

Postby George Tyndall » Sat Jan 22, 2011 5:29 pm

Occasionally, when I launch a PREL file, I'll see the Loading window scroll, but then I never see the opened file.

Task Manager informs me PRE is running, and when I click on the PRE icon in the taskbar, a small icon does pop up to confirm, but that's all I can see.

Restarting does not solve the problem.

This happens on the same single monitor (not a dual-monitor system) on which the file was created.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Same thing happens with Photoshop Elements once in a while, George.

I just assume it's another of those weird Adobe things and restart the program.

I tried restarting both the program and the machine, Steve, but without immediate success.

After multiple clicks on the popup icon, I did finally get the file to open in Full Screen mode, and from there I got to normal view, but I'm not sure what to do in the future.

Any other suggestion?

I've had this problem often with the Organizer. My workaround is to not have it open in full screen. I made it slightly smaller than the screen size and since I started doing this I have not had the problem.

I have not had this problem with PRE, but the same workaround should work.

I'll try that.

Thank you!

Well, JohnnyO, so far so good: The problem has not recurred since I began opening PRE7 so that it covers slightly less than the full screen.

Thank you!
