Cool Trick 50 Light Ray

Postby vidiac1212 » Thu Oct 07, 2010 1:17 pm

Hi everyone. I received my Cool Tricks and Tips book by Steve in the mail on Monday! Can't wait to learn all the fun things. Of course I had to start in the very back of the book. I followed the directions to the "T" ( 4 times now) however, my verticle flip does not create anything close to a mirror image beneath the title, it lays directly behind it making the title unreadable.
There's no adjustment for the verticle flip and I'm stumped. Would appreciate any help.

I'm using PE 7.

Thanks all!

Hi, Vidiac! Thanks for supporting the book -- though I'm sorry to hear you're having challenges.

It's a little hard to say what's going wrong without knowing exactly what you've done.

When you created your title, did you ensure that it sat right on or slightly above the vertical center of your frame? This is very important because the Vertical Flip effect will create a mirror image centering on the vertical center point. So, if your title is sitting too low, the "reflection" will be behind it rather than below it.

Could that be what you're seeing?

If you're still not getting it, drop me a private message or write me at steve @ the name of the site. If you've got Skype, we can set up a session in which I can see your desktop and maybe get a better idea what's going wrong.

It's the least I can do for a supporter of the book and this site!

Hi Steve. You're the Man!!!! I adjusted the position of the title from track one and whall-a! Success! Thanks so much. This book is awesome and I know it's going to take a lot of time and work to bring all the effects and ideas to life, but I'm already further along than I was on Sunday.
And to all who read this post, if you don't already have Steve's Cool Ticks and Tips book, I highly recommend you order yours today.

Thanks for everything Steve.

Glad you brought this up, Vidiac. I was having the same problem and so disappointed, as I was really looking forward to using this effect. Now I can go back and try it again.
