Moving a piece of edited movie

Postby Finnkai » Thu May 13, 2010 2:13 am

Sorry if this is a question that's already been answered.

I have a section of my movie that's edited consisting of 2 video tracks, and an audio track but I now want to move the whole piece and put it earlier in the movie.

How do I move all the tracks together and insert them at the right point without upseting all the timings etc.?

Thanks

Hi, Finnkai. Welcome to Muvipix!

Just so we're clear on what you're asking -- are you asking how to move a group of clips to an earlier spot in the same movie? That's pretty easy. Just select the the clips, press the G key to group them (or right-click and select Group), then move them to the new position on your timeline. The other clips will move to the right, still staying in sync with each other, so that you can insert this group where you'd like.

If you're asking how to move the three clips from one video project file to another, that's a bit more challenging. In fact, you can't really do it in Premiere Elements without using a third party program like ClipMate to supplement the move.

Steve

Yes, the former. I had not spotted the ability to group a set of clips from different tracks on the timeline. Thanks you have answered my question!
