CROSS DISSOLVE TRANSITION

Postby banatone » Tue Apr 27, 2010 7:36 am

Hello every one!

I am editing a video, adding stills, music, ets. I am finding that when insert a cross dissolve transition between video clips, it is not working. I have tried other transitions and they are working, including some of the other dissolves in the same group. But the cross dissolve, along with gradient wipe does not show an effect. This does not happen between the stills, or if I am using it from still to video. What am I doing wrong?

Have you cut out some of the video where you have made a cut Banatone?
You need to have an obvious difference between the clips for those transitions to show anything.
If I just cut a clip and stick a cross dissolve in there it won't show anything because there isn't any difference between the two, if you know what I mean. Cut out about 10 seconds of video from either side of the transition and see if that helps ;)

I had this problem working on a graduation video. Had the camera on a tripod and stopped recording between the groups. They called on 25 grads & then it took about 3 to 4 minutes to bring out the next group. The problem with a dissolve is that the video all looked the same. Went with a dip to black instead.

Thank you all!
Momoffduty-- I tried the dip to black, which worked, and I will use it if I can't get the cross dissolve to work.
Ron--the video was very helpful.
Chuck--I get what you mean about the difference between clips being not much difference at all. I will try cutting out 10 seconds on either side.

Thanks again! ::CLAP: ::CLAP:
