Good news! Both and all of you were right on target! I got delivery on my Verbatim disks and immediately put them into service. They work perfectly. I've not had a difficulty since! Now, I'm a bit puzzled about their unfortunate "competition." Why produce disks of limited usefulness? Thanks again for advice that proved to be (as I expected) pure gold. Jim Schumacher
