HD File Size Difference Between Export Movie and Share

I'm having trouble understanding why the file sizes are different when I export the same clip from PE7 work area bar. I have exported a 20 second clip (Canon 7D MOV file 1080P 24fps) to both "export movie/QT" and "Share." Settings for both are exactly the same, and while the MOV files look identical, the file size is 5 times larger with "export movie."

I'm trying to get the best quality QuickTime MOV file with smallest file size. Any suggestions?

Are you sure the compression settings are the same. Go in to Advanced in the Export Settings and check the bit rate. To confirm this use GSpot to analyze the two export files... compare the two results, GSpot will tell you the bit rate.

It may even be worth examining the file with G Spot. Remember, things that look alike may not be alike at all! An MOV file could use any number of codecs, sound qualities, bit rates, etc.

Especially since you're starting with video from a still camera rather than from a standard video format like HDV or AVCHD, the output is going to be very different.
