I think you need to unlock the pannel.

Have you gone to the Window drop-down menu and selected Show Docking Headers? Once you do that, you can drag each panel out from the rest of the interface and make it a floating panel. Then you can place the Monitor panel, the Timeline panel and the Audio Mixer anyplace you want on your monitors.

If you've got your two monitors set up in Windows as a continuous desktop, they should behave just as if they were one desktop.

I guess I'm not quite clear on what your challenge is, Bonnie. Is it that your continuous desktop is misbehaving or is it that you can't undock the Monitor from the rest of the interface?

my apolagies ,in going back to steves book,I see that the tasks panel is the one that i was attempting to move,but that it is the one panel that cannot be moved,all else is fine,the second monitor is just great,really opens up the space,bonnie

I work with a guy who has 3 monitors at his PC. 2-24’s set up side by side and an additional 24” monitor rotated 90 degrees. Must be nice.
