Flickering Image

Postby Arnie49 » Tue Feb 16, 2010 1:23 am

I have placed a white color matte clip in video 1. I have placed an orchid taken in front of a blue sceen in video 2. I have said yes to videomerge. When I view the clip there is flickering at random spots on the flower and on the stem. I have tried moving all of the controls available in properties and cannot get rid of the flickering. When I play either clip without videomerge there is no flickering. I have the same problem with blue screen key and Chroma key. What am I doing wrong? Arnie

First, have you rendered the video before previewing it? (Clips that require rendering have a red line above them on the timeline.) Press Enter to render the clip. The red line will turn green and your clip will preview much closer to your final output.

If you are still getting flickering, right-click on your still image(s) and select Field Options and then check Flicker Removal.

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, I have a red line. I have pressed enter several times and nothing happens. The red line stays. I am running Windows 7/64 bit.

Do you have the Work Area Bar over the section you want to render? Adjust the WAB using the handles each end until it covers the area you want to render and then hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

I didn't have a work area bar. Read up on how to create one and now the program compiles and the flicker is gone. Thanks. Arnie
