Steve, did you resolve this problem in the end?

I've come up against this over the last couple of days, tried all the suggestions given all to no avail.
Strangely, audio track 2 also seems to have disappeared.

Any comments, guys?

I don't know if Steve has ever seen this problem. If you read all of my posts you can see what I had to do with my last project to finally get finished. Definitely is a problem with the audio or at least it seems to be.

Open a saved version and see what happens, you can also try to Restore the Workspace and see what happens.
How long is your project and what all does it include, how many tracks, how much music, and how much video?

I am having troubles also with not being able to move clips in the timeline. It happened just after I exported audio (might be a coincidence?) I get the circle with a line through it, but also a small white upright rectangle appear like an icon when I try to move clips. After failed attempts to keep trying, I get the error message [...\Src\MiniTimeLine\minitimelineImplBase.cpp.1415]

I will try some of Chucks ideas and see how I go. Fingers crossed :)

I've sent a note to one of our contacts at Adobe to see if they can help us with this one.
It sure is frustrating.

Did you get the runaway timeline yet?

I deleted some soundtracks, which seemd to fix the problem. I didn't have anything in the naration timline.

With regards to runaway timline, it did seem to auto scroll the timline by just hovering the mouse to the left or right of the screen. I thought I had accidently turned on a function I didnt know about, but it also went back to normal by deleting sound tracks.

Hope I never have this problem again :)

its happening again. This time in a project of just WAV sound files. I get the error [..\..\Src\Audio\AsioHost.cpp-709]. I have the sound files in audio 1 and audio 2 tracks. I tried restoring The problem started when I unenabled a group of files on track 1 :( .

Haven't heard anything from Adobe on this issue yet. Sure wish we could figure this out.

I can confirm this, it's happening to me. Anyone ever figure out what definitively causes it?

I sure miss PE2 :???:

Any luck Ron? I wouldn't mind using my old PE7 for the odd thing now and then but out of the blue this problem strikes, I give up and find a way of doing it in FCE.

Yeah, mine ended up being a bad clip. No idea what was bad about it as it was just an edit/cut just like all the rest. Once I located and removed the bad clip, it restored back to normal.

I had the same problem today. Tried to move all the clips without success.
I deleted all the sound clips from the soundtrack, saved the project with a new name, closed the project and opened it again.
Now I could move all the clips as I wanted. :yh:

I hope that this bug is fixed in Prel 9.

There are times when using V7 that suddenly the program will just start acting goofy - locking up, reacting oddly, doing things on its own, etc. I'm pretty happy with V7 and consider it pretty stable. Nonetheless, closing it down and restarting is sometimes the only way to solve these problems. This is on a new machine with good specs and plenty of memory. In nearly every case I blame the program, not the hardware. Occasionally if I do suspect hardware or OS issues I'll do a full restart just to make sure.
